ARGENTINA
SEEKS TO ADD NEW LIMITATIONS AND EXCEPTIONS TO COPYRIGHT
Argentina’s Copyright authority and the Ministry of Culture invited all interested parties to discuss the draft that may modify the Argentinian copyright law adding new exceptions and limitations.
The project seeks to extend the scope of the copyright exceptions and limitations and exempts payment from acts of reproduction and distribution for those intended for the visually impaired (Similar to that established in the Marrakesh Treaty of which Argentina is a part since September 30th, 2016).
In addition, the bill also authorizes natural persons to use free of charge up to 20% of a work protected by copyright if that use is private or has research purposes.
