IMPLEMENTING BOLIVIA´S FORMAL ACCESSION TO THE HAGUE APOSTILLE CONVENTION
Recently, the Bolivian Government enacted Supreme Decree No. 3541 for the purpose of its implementation by the means of which ratified the accession to The Hague Apostille Convention
The Convention abolished the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents, and, currently, it has been ratified by 115 countries. Being part of the Convention simplifies procedures for mutual recognition of foreign public documents, as it requires each member country to appoint a single competent authority (in this case, the Foreign Affairs Ministry through its Central Service and Foreign Service) to certify the legality of a public document drawn up in its jurisdiction and that is to be produced on another member state.
