LAW NO. 13.243 OF 2016 IS ISSUED

Brazil has issued the legal framework regarding Science, Technology and Innovation, by means of Law No. 13,246 of 2016 which promotes innovation through associations between the public sector, state universities and private companies.

With the issuance of Law No. 13,246 of 2016, Brazil has taken a step forward to promote and support innovation in the country, creating scientific, technological and innovation institutions (ICT’s) as well as the Center for Technological Innovation (NIT) with which a greater activity and cooperation between the private sector, state universities and the public sector is expected. Said agencies are intended to support and strengthen the development of technology parks and business hubs. Greater swiftness in the innovation process is envisioned with these changes, as well as a better and more efficient cooperation between the different actors (private sector, universities and State).
