EUROPEAN UNION
RULES ON EUROPEAN UNION TRADEMARKS AND COMMUNITY DESIGNS WILL NO LONGER APPLY TO THE UNITED KINGDOM
As of March 30th of 2019, United Kingdom will become a “third state” and EU trademarks, as well as registered and unregistered community designs will have no effect in the United Kingdom but will have in the rest of the 27 Member States. The same will happen with pending applications.
As a result, trademarks as well as registered and unregistered community designs before the withdrawal date will continue to be valid in the EU27 Member States but will no longer have effect in the United Kingdom as from the withdrawal date.
