VENEZUELA
32 INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS ARE GRANTED
The Venezuelan Trademark and Patent Office has broken its silence of over ten years proceeding to grant industrial designs, a scenario that did not happened since 2006
By means of Resolution No. 087, 32 industrial designs, which had been filed between 1999 and 2003, were granted. The mentioned resolution did not indicate the reasons that justified why the design was granted and there was no mention of the deadline and mechanisms for the payment of annuities. This decision is a step forward in this country where the granting of intellectual property rights was suspended under the current government, which means a change of position on the matter.
