NEW LIMITATIONS TO COPYRIGHT’S LAW IN MEXICO IN BENEFIT OF DISABLE PEOPLE
Mexico joined the Marrakech Treaty which allows access to people with visual disability the use of masterpieces protected by copyright.
The new exception which is already included in the Mexican legislations, allows the free use of protected masterpieces. This use can be done if these masterpieces are intended to visual disabled people and that said use does not affect the regular masterpiece exploitation.
It is necessary to clarify that the Mexican legislator excluded from this exception the reproduction and distribution rights. The exception could only be applied to acts related to work publication.
