MODIFICATION TO THE INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY LAW
Recently, a modification to the Mexican Industrial Property Law entered into force, which modified some formal procedures.
First of all, it was granted the possibility of submitting in the same application, the registration of licenses, assignments, mergers, changes of legal representatives and change of name or address.
Secondly, it was established that licensing or assignment agreements must be signed by both parties and those agreements signed only by the assignor will not be valid.
Finally, it was ordered that, in order to be valid, the powers of attorney must include the name and signature of two witnesses.
