THE PATENT OFFICE OF PERU AND JAPAN BEGIN THE PILOT PROGRAM OF THE PATENT PROSECUTION HIGHWAY – PPH
The Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) between the Patent Office of Peru (Indecopi) and Japan will begin on November 1st. This program seeks to accelerate the procedures for granting a patent application.
The Peruvian inventors will benefit by protecting and accelerating the process in the Asian country. This program allows the exchange of good practices, and information between the Patent Offices and avoids double efforts. Thus, the granting process is accelerated.
This agreement sets Indecopi as another important Patent Office in the world with better process and prosecution times. The implementation guide of the pilot program will be public before its commencement.
