The Brazilian Patent Office issued Resolution No. 190 demanding electronic filing of several documents and applications which could be submitted in paper format.
NEW USE OF THE VIRTUAL PLATFORM TO ACCESS ONLINE SERVICES OF THE CHILEAN INSTITUTE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (INAPI)
As of June 1st 2017, any new user who wishes to access any of INAPI’s online services must do so through the creation of a “unique password”, provided by the aforementioned entity.

Through external circular DG 100-0175-17, the National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance (INVIMA) developed the criteria and requirements for the Bioavailability and Bioequivalence studies in Colombia for the procedure implementations established in Resolution No. 1124 2016.

NEW LAW ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WILL BECOME EFFECTIVE ON AUGUST 1st OF 2017
The new law on Trademarks, Design Rights and Patents was approved last year and will be implemented on 1st August, 2017. Consequently, the practice of re- registering UK and EU trademarks will come to an end on July 31st of 2017.
