Pursuant to Colombian Criminal Code, it is considered a crime against the public health the violation of sanitary measure or the propagation of epidemic with criminal intent. Therefore, in case of breach of the imposed measures, individuals and legal representative of companies may be prosecuted by the Colombian General Attorney’s Office on allegations of violation of such measures.
According to news reports in the mass media, there have been cases of foreigners violating sanitary measures of preventive isolation. Nonetheless, up to the date, we are not aware of prosecutions initiated by Colombian General Attorney’s Office for such alleged crime.
